Brian Edward Harpst, 64, of Donation Road, Hempfield Township, lost his emotional struggle due to complications from his stroke. He passed on June 19th at his residence.
Brian was born in Greenville on September 14, 1959, to Harry and Helen (Tomasovic) Harpst. He graduated from Greenville High School in 1977 and Clarion University in 1981 with a B.S. in Business Administration. He began his career in the automotive industry with Chrysler Corporation as a Customer Service Representative. Brian always had a passion for cars and after leaving Chrysler, held various positions in automotive software, parts, and customer service in his later years.
Brian’s hobby was collecting antique automobiles, which was fostered by his father and friends. He was a member of the Packard Club and the Cosworth Vega Owners Association. He wrote and published many articles, contributing countless hours of research and information to Packard sites to further the hobby.
He devotedly cared for his parents until their passing. He leaves behind to cherish his memory a sister Laura (John) DeLullo, his niece Lindsay, and nephew Nicholas DeLullo, all of Poland, Ohio, along with his best friend and car enthusiast, John Thompson.
Per the deceased wishes cremation was chosen and there will be no services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.
