Carl W. Carlson, Jr., age 85, of District Rd., Delaware Twp., Greenville passed away peacefully in his residence with his wife by his side on Thursday morning, November 28, 2024.
He was born in Mercer on March 21, 1939 to Carl W. and Nellie (Barr) Carlson. Carl was a graduate of Mercer High School and had served in the U. S. Army from 1958-1968. He retired as a crane operator at Wheatland Tube after 37 years of employment.
Carl was of the Presbyterian Faith, and he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, hunting, and traveling with his wife on numerous Anderson Coach trips.
On December 13, 1960, he married the former Edith G. Rosentreter; she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters: Rita (Tim) Valencic of Espyville and Joan Thompson of West Middlesex; two sons: Henry (Sally) Carlson of Acme, WA and Carl (Ida) Carlson of Hermitage; three sisters: Judith (Ivan) Teets of Greenville, Donna (Art) Peters of Mercer, and Linda (James) O’Rourke of FL; two brothers: Robert (Cheryl) Carlson of Jackson Center and Richard (Linda) Carlson of Hermitage; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Sandra Kostas.
Services:
Per Carl’s wishes, cremation was chosen and there will be no services.
