Carl A. Scott peacefully passed away surrounded by family on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 8:00 PM at St. Paul’s, The Villas.

He was born on October 31, 1929 in Elwood City, PA to Anthony and Michalen Skoczylas. Carl was an accomplished accordion player and had his own polka band called The Harmony Range Boys. He also enjoyed playing the clarinet and the organ.

He graduated from Lincoln High School, Elwood City in 1949. He served in the US army during the Korean War as a signals instructor from September 1951 to September 1953.

He married Mary Jo Fellner on November 28, 1953. Carl received his B.S. degree from Geneva College in 1955 and went on to earn his Master’s Degree in education from the University of Pittsburgh.He began his career as an elementary teacher in Elwood City and then in 1960 he became the principal of Crestwood’s Elementary and High Schools in Mantua, Ohio. In 1964, his family moved to Greenville, PA where he became the principal of Greenville Senior High School. He retired from this position in 1991.

Carl was an active member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed many golf trips with his brothers as well as league play at Pinehill Golf Course. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus, reaching title of Faithful Navigator.

Surviving are 2 sons, Robert A. and wife Candie of Hopewell, PA and Jeffrey J. of West Middlesex, PA, a brother Edward Scott of Convent Station, New Jersey and a sister, Sally Robuck of Green Valley, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Mary Jo, his parents and brothers Robert and John Scott.
