Carol A. Moore

Carol A. Moore, age 85, of Scipio St., Jamestown, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 4, 2024, in UPMC Jameson.

She was born on September 11, 1939 in Evans City, PA to Oliver and Leona (Larkin) Moyer. Carol was a 1957 graduate of Evans City High School and graduated from Pittsburgh Business School in 1958.

She formerly was employed as an executive secretary for Nationwide Insurance from 1959-1960, as secretary to the pastor of Thiel College from 1960-1961, and as secretary to the principal at Greenville High School from 1961-1962. Carol then became a homemaker and worked as a part-time bookkeeper for Dr. John Werner in Jamestown for 10 years.

Carol was a member of Jamestown Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, baking strawberry and cherry cheesecakes, and especially loved spending time with her family.

On August 20, 1960, she married Robert W. Moore; he survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Robin D. Moore and her husband Steve Kenworthy of Spring Valley, CA; three sons: Robert W. Moore, Jr. of Jamestown; Brian J. (Melody) Moore of Jamestown; and Eric T. (Bobbi Joe) Moore of Williamsfield, OH; a sister, Nancy Stach of Evans City; a brother, Gary Moyer, of Elkins, WV; six grandchildren: Kyle Moore, Amanda (Erik) Keeter, Austin Kenworthy, Samantha Kenworthy, David Moore, and Richard Moore; and two great grandchildren: Atticus Keeter and Evren Keeter.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Jane Myers and Janet Kroll.

Services:

Family and friends will be received from 4-6 PM on Saturday, 4/5/25, in Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St. Jamestown. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Jamestown.
