Cecilia (Usnik) Kettering

Cecilia (Usnik) Kettering, age 97, passed away on July 12, 2024.

She is predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Charles Kettering, her daughter, Lois Kettering Levin, her grandson, Eric Maxwell Weiner, son-in-law Dave Osselborn, sisters Mary and Rose, and brother, Frank.

Cecilia is survived by her children: Sue (Howard) Weiner, Janet Osselborn, and Kenneth Charles (Joan) Kettering. Grandchildren: Dan (Sarah) Levin, Lisa Levin (Andy) Young, Alex (Rachel) Weiner, Allison Weiner, John (Alyssa) Kettering, and Lee Kettering. Great-grandchildren: Miriam Weiner and Luke, Molly, and Jake Young and many nieces and nephews.

Cecilia was born in 1927 in Dunlo, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Leonard and Rose (Zeleznikar) Usnik. She graduated from Adams Township High School and then moved to Pittsburgh where she met her husband, Ken. Together, they built a home in the North Hills of Pittsburgh where they raised their four children. Cecilia obtained her L.P.N. degree in 1970 from Passavant Hospital. After Ken passed in 1971, Cecilia moved to Greenville to be closer to her daughter, Lois, and grandchildren. Cecilia contentedly spent her remaining years living comfortably at St. Paul’s Senior Living Community.

Services:

Cremation was chosen, and there will be no services. Inurnment will be in the columbarium of St. Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to “The Heritage at St. Paul’s” 339 E. Jamestown Rd., Greenville, PA 16125.
