Charles E. Eaton, age 85, of Greenville, passed away Thursday morning, January 27, 2022 in Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Conneaut Lake, PA on June 6, 1936 to Bert and Madge (McGranahan) Eaton. Charlie was a 1956 graduate of Conneaut Lake High School. He was employed at Greenville Tubes for twenty-one years, Ondo Manufactoring for two years and retired in 1998 from Salem Tube Corp., where he had worked for twenty years. In addition he was a member and employee of over forty years at Reynolds VFW Post #7599. Charlie was also a member of First United Methodist Church, Greenville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, yardwork, sports, especially baseball and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.
His wife of fifty-nine years, the former Gail E. VanKorngut, preceded him in death on June 30, 2017. Charlie is survived by two sons, Major David Eaton and his wife Lisa of Valdosta, GA and Brian Eaton and his spouse David of Boyers, PA, a sister, Martha Adsit of Linesville, a brother, Bert Eaton of Conneaut Lake and five grandchildren, Anthony, Zachary, Kyle, Colton and Garrett. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three children, Robin, Robert and Joseph, a sister, Wilda Morian and a brother, Richard Eaton.
