Darrell Richard Landfried, age 94, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday morning, January 10, 2024 in St. Paul’s Senior Living Community. He was born in Greenville on December 12, 1929 to David L. and Mary E. (Bartholomew) Landfried.

Dick attended Penn High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1946-1948 stationed in Japan. He retired in 1987 from the U.S. Postal Service in Greenville, where he had been employed as a T6 Clerk for thirty years. He was a member of Jerusalem Christian Church, VFW Post #3374 and American Legion Post #140. On April 21, 1972 he married the former Patricia A. Groover, she passed away on September 21, 2017.

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Landfried of Jacksonville, FL; his son, Richard (Janet) Landfried of Greenville, three step-sons, James (Martha) Henry of Greenville, Gary (Kathleen) Henry of Kentucky and Bradley (Rochelle) Henry of Greenville; eleven grandchildren, Troy Henry, Shannon Ritzert, Cari Bailey, Michael Price, Jason Henry, Amanda Henry, Elizabeth Inglis, Brandon Henry, Nicole Chandler, David Landfried, Kyle Landfried and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters and three brothers.
