David J. “Dave” Bell, age 49, of Murphy Rd., Greene Twp, Jamestown and formerly of West Middlesex, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 16, 2024, in his residence following a three-year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by loving family members and dear friends.
He was born on May 19, 1975 in Sharon to Gerald Bell and Betty (Meszaros) Holland. Dave was a 1993 graduate of Sharpsville High School and attended Kent State University. He was employed as a customer service representative with First National Bank Technology Center for 12 years. Dave then graduated from New Castle School of Trades in 2017, earning his CNC machinist certification. He was most recently employed as a CNC machinist with Nordson Precision Engineering and Manufacturing for two years prior to his illness.
Dave greatly enjoyed hanging out with friends, playing poker, appreciating fine cigars, and researching and collecting watches. He possessed a deep love of music and composed electronic tracks and played guitar, drums, and keyboards. Dave loved animals, and animals loved him. Over the years, he and his wife fostered many dogs and cats, and Dave had a special affection for senior animals. Left behind are his beloved dogs, Holly and Tweak and also several cats. He was a lover of literature who was well read and always with a book in his hand. Dave was loved deeply by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
On May 22, 2024, Dave married Victoria VanHoose, following a 20-year relationship; she survives.
In addition to his wife, Dave is survived by his parents; his stepfather, Orbin Holland, of Cortland, OH; a stepdaughter, Courtney VanHoose, and her significant other, Shane Kilgore, of Greenville; a stepson, Bruno VanHoose-Marks of Slippery Rock; and two grandchildren: Noah Kilgore and Fleura Kilgore.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:30 PM on Tuesday, 10/29/24, in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville, with Pastor Kent Bell, Pastor of Bethel Life Worship Center, officiating. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Tuesday, 10/29/24, from 3:00 PM until time of service. Memorial Contributions may be made to Friends of Fido Mahoning Valley Dog Pound, P.O.
