Dorothy M. “Dot” Smith, age 89, of Clinton St., Greenville, passed away Wednesday morning, April 5, 2023 in St. Paul’s Senior Living Community.

She was born in Greenville on November 25, 1933 to John E. and Margaret E. (Lovesky) Smith. She was a 1951 graduate of St. Michael High School. Dot retired in 1996 from Greenville Orthopedics Association after being employed for eleven years as a bookkeeper.

She was previously employed at Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Sharon, where she worked for twenty years in the Data Entry Department. Dot was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville, where she served as the bookkeeper for the Forty Club for many years. She was an original member of the St. Michael School Alumni Association and kept up with the Alumni mailing list for several years. Dot enjoyed playing dominos with her club friends and she enjoyed following Lakeview Sports, where her great nephews participated in past years.

She is survived by her sister Roseann Whieldon of Leander, TX, a brother-in-law; Bill Welton of Greenville, a niece; Jennifer Doddo and her husband Joe of Stoneboro, three nephews; Tom Whieldon and his wife Jackie of Washington State, John Whieldon and his wife Sue of Texas and Brett Welton and his wife Sheila of Georgia, two great-nieces; Cassie and Alana Whieldon and five great-nephews; Kyle and Matthew Whieldon, Jacob and Zachary Doddo and Will Welton. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son; Edward Smith, a sister; Patricia Welton and a brother-in-law; Thomas Whieldon.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 85 N. High St., Greenville, PA 16125.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.
