Eddie Summerlin, Jr.

Eddie B. Summerlin, Jr., age 86, of Greenville, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 2, 2024 in the Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown. He was born in Greenville, MS on August 5, 1937 a son of Eddie B. Sr. and Jeanette (Piriano) Summerlin.

He was a graduate of St. Michael’s High School. He was employed at ELG Metals as a manager for 5 years and National Nickel Alloy Corp where he was a trader for 10 years, retiring in August of 2002. He was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Reynolds VFW Post #7599, Knights of Columbus, and Jamestown Fireman’s Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, antiquing, gardening, traveling, and spending time with grandchildren. On October 23, 1998 Eddie married the former Janet Guzzo, she passed away October 16, 2018.

He is survived by two daughters, Venessa Summerlin of Virginia Beach, VA, Barbara Carpenter of Cochranton; two step-daughters, Joni Prugh of Greenville, Madolyn Gingell and her husband Robert of Ft. Myers, FL; a son, Raymond Summerlin of Greenville; two step-sons, Joseph P. Biery, Jr. and his wife Susan of Wooster, OH, Michael A. Biery of Cape Coral, FL.; a sister, Jeanette Fenn of Greenville; eight grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

A Graveside Service will be held in the Chapel of St. Michael Cemetery on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 1:30 PM with Rev. Brandon Kleckner, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael School Endowment Fund, 85 N. High St., Greenville, PA 16125.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home, 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.
