Edwin L. Fry, age 88, of Jamestown, passed away January 30, 2025, in Kadima Rehabilitation and Nursing at Greenville.

He was born in Adamsville on May 20, 1936 to David R. and Harriette (Blue) Fry. Ed attended elementary school at Dowling one-room schoolhouse in Jamestown. He graduated from Pymatuning Joint High School in 1954. After graduation Ed managed the Esso Service Station in Jamestown. He later worked as a machinist at Target Stamped Products in Kinsman, OH. Ed then worked and retired as a conductor from the Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad following 29 years of employment. He also worked with his uncle John Woodworth setting up mobile homes.

Ed was a life-member of the Jamestown VFD, was a member of the NRA, and enjoyed hunting and golfing. He loved to shoot off fireworks and throw buckets of cold water on his unsuspecting children and grandchildren. He enjoyed his family, playing cards, reading and watching western movies.

On January 29, 1955, Ed married the former Nancy Jean Williams; she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Tracy (Wes) Davenport of Jamestown, PA and Jacqueline (Ron) Lewis of Columbiana, OH.; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and 4-great great grandchildren.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; and infant son, Edwin Lee Fry; a daughter, Jill Fry-Durica; a son Robert D. Fry; and a sister, Betty Jean Foulk.

Services:

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, 2/7/25, in Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St. Jamestown with Rev. Gary Bates, Interim Pastor of Jamestown Presbyterian Church, officiating. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on 2/7/25 from 1:00 PM until time of service. Inurnment will be in Park Lawn Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Park Lawn Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 148 Jamestown, PA 16134 or to Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department, P. O. Box 13, 208 Depot St. Jamestown, PA 16314.
