Elisabeth M. (Loeffler) Ruffing, age 89, of Bentley Ave., Greenville passed away peacefully Friday evening, August 20, 2021 in Avalon Springs Place, Mercer with her husband by her side.

She was born in Frankfurt a/m Oberrad, Germany on January 20, 1932 a daughter of Martin J. and Maria A. (Wegmann) Loeffler. On May 29, 1955 at Heart of Jesus Church in Oberrad, Germany Elisabeth married J. James Ruffing, he survives. She was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed shopping for bargains, taking many O.D. Anderson Tours with Jim, and dining frequently with Jim at Greenville Wendy's. She had many stories to tell of surviving many air raids as a child growing up in Germany during World War II. She was a kind, gentle and loving woman and was an excellent cook.

In addition to her husband of 66 years she is survived by a niece, Roswitha (Loeffler) Eiber of Offenbach, Germany; a cousin, Annaliese Martin of Oberrad, Germany; Jim's many cousins whom she embraced as her own family especially Margaret (Kirkner) McLaughlin and Helen Kirkner. . She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Heinrich Loeffler and Martin Loeffler.
