Ellen Gruver

Ellen Joyce Gruver, age 88, of Leech Rd., Greenville passed away Thursday morning, March 23, 2023 in her residence.

She was born in Greenville on January 19, 1935 a daughter of Robert M. and Margaret A. (Downing) Weaver.
She was a 1953 graduate of Penn High School and on May 24, 1953, Joyce married Harold W. “Cork” Gruver, he passed away June 25, 2002. She was a member of St. Clement's Episcopal Church, Greenville where she belonged to the altar guild. She enjoyed knitting, reading, traveling with her children, gardening, watching/feeding the birds, and her cats.

She is survived by four daughters, Debra McBride and her husband Charles of Huffman, TX, Diana Miller and her husband Charles of Wilson, NC, Donita Richey and her husband Tom of Greenville, Darcy Pomponio and her husband Josh of Hadley; a son, Daryl Gruver and his wife Debe of Greenville; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and a sister.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 in St. Clement's Episcopal Church, 103 Clinton St., Greenville with Rev. John Wise, Pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Delaware Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Clement's Episcopal Church, 103 Clinton St., Greenville, PA 16125 or Strayhaven Animal Shelter, 94 Donation Rd., Greenville, PA 16125.
