Emerencia "Mert" Muscarella

Emerencia “Mert” Muscarella, age 97, of Lininger Rd., W. Salem Twp., Greenville, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024.

She was born on January 24, 1927 in Greenville to Izidor Zarecky, Sr. and Josephine (Zachar) Zarecky. She attended St. Michael High School and was later employed as a bookkeeper at Bolotins’ Furniture and also worked as a seamstress.

Mert was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville where she volunteered for the Church Census. She also was a member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Farrell.

She married David J. Muscarella on June 9, 1951. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2007.

Mert is survived by a daughter, Monica (David) Moore of Oil City, three sons: Donald (Cheryl) Muscarella of TN, Greg (Vicki) Muscarella of Greenville, and Gary (Lori) Muscarella of Allentown; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Muscarella of New Castle; a sister, Mary Zarecky of Greenville; 15 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Michael Muscarella and David Muscarella, a sister, Ann Haller, brothers Izidor Zarecky, Jr., Frank Zarecky, and Joseph Zarecky (infant), and an infant granddaughter.

Services:

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, 08/15/24, at 1:00 PM in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 85 N. High St., Greenville with Fr. Brandon Kleckner, pastor of the church, as Celebrant. Family and friends will be received in the Gathering Space of the church from 12 noon until time of Mass. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
