Ethel R. Dale, age 95, a lifelong resident of Greenville, passed away Tuesday morning, November 12, 2024, in St. Paul’s Senior Living Community.
She was born April 5, 1929 in Grove City to John and Rose (Dobos) Koren. Ethel attended Penn High School had been employed as a clerical assistant to Dr. Smith and worked in sales for Lean’s Bakery. She also served as Otter Creek Township Tax Collector for 24 years and had previously served on the Commodore Perry School Board.
Ethel was a member of Jerusalem Christian Church for more than 50 years where she served as an Elder, taught Sunday School classes and Bible Studies, and was a member and president of the Busy Bees Quilting Circle. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she had served as a Worthy Matron, a Past District Grand Deputy, and was an active Floor Officer for over 40 years. Ethel enjoyed spending time and traveling with family and friends, loved baking cookies for the Keystone Center, and created many beautiful counted cross-stitch heirlooms for her family and friends.
On July 14, 1946, she married Leslie C. Dale; he passed away May 7, 1983.
Ethel is survived by a daughter, Barbara E. (Dennis) Wiles, of Slippery Rock; a son, R. William (Kathie) Dale of Oil City; a daughter-in-law, Debra Dale, of Vienna, OH; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Patty Dale; a son, Richard Dale; a brother, John Koren; an infant brother, Robert Koren; and two infant sisters, Anna Koren and Betty Koren.
Services:
A Funeral Service will be held at 5 PM on Friday, 11/15/24, in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville, with Pastor Pat Spears, Spiritual Director of St. Paul’s Senior Living Community, officiating. Family and friends will be received in the Funeral Home on Friday from 3 PM until time of service. Burial will be in Delaware Twp. Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Jerusalem Christian Church, 560 Donation Rd., Greenville, PA 16125 or St. Paul’s Senior Living Community, 339 E. Jamestown Rd. Greenville, PA 16125.
