Evelyn Kaufman

Evelyn P. Kaufman, age 107, of Greenville, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022 in St. Paul’s Senior Living Community.

She was born in Albion, PA on July 25, 1915 to Walter and Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Kaufman. Evelyn was a 1933 graduate of Penn High School and Albright College. She also had attended Slippery Rock State College and Penn State University. Evelyn was employed as an Elementary School Teacher for thirty-six years at Greenville School District, retiring in 1978. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Greenville, where she was active with United Methodist Women, the Gleaners Class, served as a Sunday School Teacher and Pianist.

Evelyn was a member of the Mercer County and Pennsylvania School Retirees, was a member of The College Club of Sharon, Greenville Lakeland AARP, Mercer County and Greenville Historical Societies, Canal Museum, Friends of the Library and Greenville Symphony Society. She was active with the Greenville Senior Center, was a member and past President of the former Orpheus Club and had volunteered at St. Paul’s, Greenville Hospital and Greenville Public Library. Evelyn is survived by her cousins.

A Private Committal Service will be held in the chapel of Delaware Cemetery with Rev. Julia Fraser, Chaplain of St. Paul’s Senior Living Community, officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.
