Francis T. Valentage, age 89, of Perry Highway, Perry Twp., Greenville, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021, in UPMC Horizon Greenville.

He was born in South Greensburg, PA on April 11, 1932, to August F. and Susan (Sebell) Valentage. Francis served his country from 1951-1955 in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Gurke during the Korean War. He retired from PPG-Meadville after 40 years of employment. He had previously been employed as a District Manager at Commercial Credit Finance, Meadville. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Mercer. Francis was a gentleman farmer and was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed gardening and wintering in Vera Beach, FL.

On October 25, 1952, he married the former Anna Marie Urban, she survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Carol A. Chason and her husband Steve of Transfer, Nancy M. Valentage of Webster, NY; a granddaughter, Melinda Dubic and five great-grandchildren, Bailey Chason, Maria Chason, Wyatt Chason, Noah Chason and Adam Dubic. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Florence Siard and her husband William of Valencia, PA; two brother-in-laws, Clement Urban and his wife Jeannie of Oil City and Joseph Urban and his wife Carol of Mercer and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Christopher Chason; three brothers, Edward, Joseph and Bernard Valentage and three sisters, Mary Jane Kotulak, Anna Marie Valentage and Helen Jenkins.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
