Genevieve Logue

d. March 15, 2022

Genevieve Logue, age 95, died of old age on March 15, 2022.

She was born on October 26, 1926, to Jacob and Carrie Neff in Williamsport, PA and had two older brothers (Francis and Arthur Neff) and one older sister (Harriett Neff Baier). All are deceased. Genevieve graduated from Syracuse University. She was trained there and at the Williamsport Hospital to be a medical laboratory technologist and was then employed by the hospital for eight years before her marriage to John F. “Jack” Logue, Jr., a high school math teacher and later a computer programmer/systems analyst. They lived in Clearfield and Boalsburg, PA and eventually moved to a farm near Adamsville, PA in 1962. She lived there the rest of her life.

Genevieve liked raising a family, raising sheep, gardening, reading, knitting, and making hand thrown pottery, being a Girl Scout Leader before and after marriage, and taking car trips with her husband to new locations and different states. One of her favorite places to visit was Ocean City, NJ where she and family members summer vacationed off and on from the time of her childhood to 2005. She found a second family in the Adamsville Presbyterian Church and had been a member and the organist for 40 years. Genevieve was involved in several women's groups and had been a volunteer at the Greenville Hospital.

Family survivors are her son Kevin Logue of Adamsville, daughter Kimberly (Matthew) Smarigiasso of Greenville, and niece Cathy Baier (Dan Lesley) of Big Pine Key, FL. She also leaves behind a special caregiver and friend Margaret Cornman, as well as many others who have expressed their fondness of and respect for Genevieve. The family extends their gratitude to Kindred Hospice of Meadville and St. Paul's Homes (Gardens B) for their Palliative care and kindness during Genevieve's last 2-1/2 months and to those who kept in touch during that time.

As per Genevieve's wishes, cremation was chosen and there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown.
