George S. Johnston, age 68, of N. Main St. Greenville passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Wednesday afternoon, October 9, 2024, in his residence.
He was born October 18, 1955 in Greenville to Vernon and Betty (Davis) Johnston. George was a 1974 graduate of Reynolds High School and had been employed as a machine operator at Trivium Aluminum in Youngstown for 22 years.
He was a life member and past Exalted Ruler of Greenville B. P. O. E. #145 and enjoyed golfing and rooting for the Denver Broncos.
George married the former Sally J. Garrett on October 25, 1975; she survives.
He is survived by two daughters: Darcie L. (Eric) Williams of Jamestown and Mandie S. Johnston of Greenville; three sisters: Betty Adams of Brookfield, OH, Shirley Patton of Rock Hill, SC, and Pat (Tim) McGhee of Greenville; his mother-in-law, Florence Garrett of Greenville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
George is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Georgia Johnston; a sister, Daisy Smolnik; and two brothers, Vernon Johnston and Bobby Johnston.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, 10/14/24, from 5-8 PM in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville. B. P. O. E. #145 will conduct an Elks Service on Monday at 8 PM in the funeral home. A Private Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home with Rev. Leon Hobbs officiating. Inurnment will be in Shenango Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to B. P. O. E. #145, 28 6th Ave. Greenville, PA 16125.
