George R. “Bob” McLaughlin, age 77, of S. Summit Rd. West Salem Twp., Greenville, passed away peacefully in his residence with his family at his side on August 1, 2024.
He was born on February 20, 1947 in Connellsville, PA to George W. and Mildred M. (Johnson) Mclaughlin. He graduated from Connellsville High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968 during the Vietnam War.
He was employed by Damascus Tube Corp. as a welder for 35 years. Following his retirement, Bob spent several years working for his son’s construction company Mega Builders.
He enjoyed wintering in Titusville, FL and loved spending time with his family. Bob attended First Baptist Church, Greenville and First Baptist Church, Mims, FL.
Bob married the former Mary M. “Cookie” Brienza on December 24, 1966; she survives. Also surviving are two sons: Rob McLaughlin of Greenville and Danny (Julie) McLaughlin of Jamestown; a sister, Patty Blocker of Connellsville; grandchildren Christian Carlos-McLaughlin, Heather Kytchak, Deven McLaughlin, Caitlynn Beck, Maxwell McLaughlin, Saylor McLaughlin, and Parker Shierer, and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Borris, and a brother, Chuck McLaughlin.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, 8/7/24 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church 60 Shenango St. Greenville with Rev. Jeff Landfried officiating. Military honors will be rendered at the conclusion of the service by Greenville American Legion Honor Guard Post #140.
