George Stepanich, Jr. age 97, of Greenville, passed away Thursday morning, August 31, 2023 in St. Paul's Senior Living Community. He was born in Greenville on October 26, 1925 a son of George and Anna (Kolarich) Stepanic.

He was a 1943 Graduate of Penn High School where he never missed a day of school. George served his country in the United States Army from 1944-1947 during World War II, where he received a purple heart, combat infantryman badge, bronze star, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Badge with 3 Bronze Service Stars, WWII Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. On June 25, 1951 George married the former Wanda J. Herrington, she passed away July, 21, 2023. He was employed as a bender at Westinghouse Electric Corp. Sharon Division for 38 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Greenville, VFW of Kansas City, MO and the AARP. George enjoyed gardening, reading the newspaper, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He is survived by two daughters, Vickie Schupska and her husband David of Roaming Shores, OH, Brenda Carrozzi of Farrell, PA; a son Mark Stepanic and his wife Dian of Plano, TX; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a sister Catherine Sprague, a brother Mike Stepanic, and a son-in-law Fred Carrozzi.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Shenango Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Senior Living Community, 339 E. Jamestown Rd., Greenville, PA 16125 or Strayhaven Animal Shelter, 94 Donation Rd., Greenville, PA 16125. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.
