Gertrude A. “Trudy” Young, age 78, of N. Second St., Greenville, passed away Wednesday morning, July 14, 2021 in UPMC Horizon Greenville after a brief illness.

She was born in Greenville on September 17, 1942 to Ned S. and Loretta C. (Junk) Wilson. Trudy was a 1960 graduate of St. Michael High School and she was a Homemaker. She was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville where she was active with the Funeral Dinner Ministry. She was a member of a domino club in Greenville, was an avid reader and enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and logic problem books. On February 21, 1961, she married Jerry M. Young, he preceded her in death on October 31, 1996.

Trudy is survived by a daughter, Loretta Clements and her husband Jonathan of Pittsburgh; two sons, Stephen G. Young and his wife Nancy of Greenville and Andrew E. Young and his wife Heidi of Pittsburgh, a sister, Mary Edna Regan of Greenville; six grandchildren, Jonathan Clements, Rachel Williams, Nicholas Young, Matthew Clements, Amanda Young and Abigail Young; a great-grandchild, Chase Williams, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant sister, Jean Wilson a sister, Barbara Russell and four brothers, David Wilson, Joseph Wilson, James Wilson and Terry Wilson.
