Gordon L. "Nick" Wilson

Gordon L. “Nick” Wilson, age 86, of Greenville passed away Thursday morning, October 10, 2024, in St. Paul’s Senior Living Community.

He was born on April 1, 1938 in Cortland, OH to Gordon L. and Helen M. (Milligan) Wilson. Nick was a 1957 graduate of Vernon (OH) High School and had served in the U. S. Navy from 1957-1962. He retired in 1994 from Penn Power Co. after 21 years of employment in the stores department. Nick had previously been employed for 13 years at the former Greenville Tube Corp. 

He was of the protestant faith and held membership with Greenville VFW Post #3374 and Greenville B. P. O. E. #145.

On July 22, 1978, he married the former Jo Ann Royal. She preceded him in death on August 6, 2022.

Nick is survived by a daughter Jo Ann Phillips and her husband Craig of Waterloo, IA; a son, Matthew Wilson of New Castle; two stepsons, James Wasser of Peosta, IA and Jay Wasser of Jamestown; a brother, Larry Wilson of Hermitage; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Duane Wilson and James Wilson.

Services:

As per Nick’s wishes, cremation was chosen, and there will be no public services.
