Greenville Moose Lodge #276 will conduct a
remembrance service on Wednesday at 7:00pm.  Burial
will be in Stevenson Cemetery.

Grace E. Alabran, age 88, formerly of 6th Ave., Hempfield Twp., Greenville, passed away Saturday morning, March 25, 2023 in St. Paul’s Senior Living Community.

She was born in New Castle, PA on October 24, 1934 to Elmer H. and Irene (Kemp) Shaner. Grace was employed in the Food Service Department of Greenville Area School District from 1974 until her retirement in 1999. She was an active member of New Apostolic Church, Greenville. In addition, she was a member of Greenville Family Moose Lodge #276, where she served as Secretary of the Seniors Group and she was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles #805. She enjoyed helping with fundraisers, Chicken Pie Dinners, Spaghetti Dinners, Chinese Auctions and others. She also enjoyed music jams, singing with John Miller & The Mercer County Boys and also sang at nursing homes.

In her earlier years she loved to bowl, dancing and cooking. Grace’s first husband, Duane B. Thomas, passed away in 1982. She then married Fulpert P. “Ollie” Alabran, Sr. on December 21, 1989, he passed away on January 28, 2004.

Grace is survived by her three daughters; Diane Ferguson and her companion Jim Morgan of Greenville, Judy Campbell and her husband Robert “Soup” of Greenville and Shari Duer and her husband Howie of Bessemer City, NC, a son Ronald Zookand his wife Cindy of Mercer, five step-daughters; Kathy King, Loretta Mowery, Billie Hunt, Mary Lonsogni and Sarah Huffman, a step-son; Fulpert P. “Jack” Alabran, Jr., several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two sisters; Margaret Stanley and Marie Barwell and four brothers; Charles Shaner, Clearance Shaner, George Shaner and Amos Shaner, a step-daughter; Joan Schell and a fiancé; John Miller.
