Harry R. Gruver, age 83, formerly of Werner Rd. Ext., Sugar Grove Twp., Greenville, passed away Thursday morning January 21, 2021 in Greystone Country Estates.

He was born in Greenville on September 22, 1937 to Leroy and Helen (Burnett) Gruver. Harry had attended Penn High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1958. He was employed as a Material Handler for thirty-five years at Trinity Industries. Harry was a past member of Greenville VFW Post #3374, F.O.E. #805, Greenville Family Moose Center #276 and B.P.O.E. #145. He was an avid hunter and card player and he enjoyed cooking. During the late 1960's and early 70's, Harry coached Little League and Senior League Baseball in Jamestown.

On February 17, 1961 he married the former Carolyn M. Leary, she preceded him in death on February 12, 2019. Harry is survived by his daughter; Rhonda M. Soros and her husband Robert of Fredonia, two sons; Robert L. Gruver and his wife Regina of Greenville and Barry D. Gruver of Greenville, four sisters; Mary Hoover, Linda Dixon, Jane Buckley and Karen Gruver, one brother; William Gruver seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters; Ruth Ann Borders, Cheryl Gruver and Betty Jean Reagle, three brothers; Reuben Gruver, Harold “Cork” Gruver and Leroy “June” Gruver and a granddaughter; Kasidy Soros.

Cremation was chosen and there will be no services. Inurnment will be in Parklawn Cemetery, Jamestown.

Memorial contributions may be made to Greenville V.F.W. Post 3374, 54 Conneaut Lake Rd., Greenville, PA 16125. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.
