Hazel “Polly” Winkle, age 71, of Greenville, and formerly of Hartstown, passed away Monday morning, November 6, 2023 in The Grove at Greenville.
Polly was born in Greenville on July 27, 1952 to William R. and Pearl E. (Thompson) Winkle. She was a former member of Fallowfield Methodist Church in Atlantic and MCAR in Hermitage. Polly was a bell collector and had over 400 bells from all over the world. People would bring them home from their trips to give to her. She loved people, always hugging and telling them stories about her cat and her kids (meaning her nieces and nephews) she called them her grandkids.
Polly is survived by her brother; Timothy R. Winkle and his wife Callie, who cared for her for years, two nieces; April (Larry) Turner and Annette (Jeff) Freshwater and a nephew; Christopher (Lauree) Winkle, great nieces and nephews; Austin (Harley), Caitlyn (Clarke), Lauren (Landyn), Stephen (Katie), Mason, Brooklyn and Levi and two great-great nieces; Charlee and Brynley. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother; John K. Winkle.
