Helen Volpe

Helen D. Volpe, age 97, of Hempfield Dr., Greenville, went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday November 28, 2022.

She was born in Greenville on January 9, 1925, to Gaetano and Adeline (Vizza) DeNicola. Helen attended Penn High School, was a Homemaker and had also worked as a hostess at the former Greenville Country Club. She was a member of the former Italian Christian Church, what is now Christian Assembly Church, where she had played piano for many years. Helen was a member of the Thiel Women’s Club and had been a volunteer at the Greenville Hospital Hospitality Shop. She loved music and the piano, cooking and baking, needlepoint, crocheting and gardening.

On December 28, 1940, she married Albert L. Volpe, Sr., he passed away June 30, 1987. She is survived by her son Albert L. Volpe, Jr. of Greenville, two brothers, Daniel DeNicola of Greenville and David DeNicola and his wife Barb of East Aurora, NY and many nieces and nephews, especially her niece Joan Little, who had been very supportive of Helen for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters, Mary Jane Volpe, Caroline DeNicola and Janet DiAngi and three brothers, Tony DeNicola, John DeNicola and an Infant Joseph DeNicola.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30am on Saturday, December 3, 2022 in Christian Assembly Church, Greenville, with Rev. Joel DiAngi, Pastor of the church, officiating. There will be no public calling hours. Burial will be in Shenango Valley Cemetery.  Memorial Contributions may be made to Christian Assembly Church, 111 Main St., Greenville, PA 16125.
