Herbert R. “Bob” Pollitt, Jr., age 68, of Walter Rd. Greene Twp., Greenville, passed away Sunday morning, July 21, 2024, at his residence.
He was born in Pittsburgh on November 12, 1955 to Herbert R. and Ruth C. (Griffith) Pollitt. Bob graduated from Brentwood High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He earned his Associate of Business Degree from Allegheny County Community College. Bob retired from Anderson Coach & Travel following 15 years of employment as a school bus driver training coordinator. He was previously employed by US Steel, Prudential Realty Property Management, and had worked as a car salesman in the local area.
He married the former Sandra Lee (Curley) Trgovic on October 3, 1998. She preceded him in death on September 16, 2018.
Bob was a member of the Jamestown VFW Post #5424 having previously served on the Honor Guard and was a member of Jamestown Fireman’s Club. He loved tinkering with cars, riding motorcycles and dirt bikes for many years, and especially spending time with his daughter, Abigail.
He is survived by a son Jason D. (Carla) Pollitt of Harrogat, England, three daughters, Denise Trgovic of Greenville, Dana Trgovic of Jamestown, and Abigail Trgovic of Jamestown, a sister Darlene Pollitt, and a brother, John Pollitt; grandchildren Linnea, Evelyn, Matthew, Alyssa, Casey, Krystal, and Kirsten, several great-grandchildren, and his previous wife, Margot E. Lynn of Gibsonia, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a grandson William Trgovic.
Services:
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, 7/27/24, in Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services 416 Liberty St. Jamestown with Rev. Daniel Miller officiating. Burial with military honors by Jamestown VFW Post #5424 Honor Guard will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Jamestown.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, 7/26/24, from 5:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
