Isaiah Perry

d. July 3, 2023

Isaiah passed away the morning of July 3, 2023, while taking a nap. He was four months old.

Isaiah was born on February 19, 2023, in Westerville, OH. He was named after Isaiah, the Old Testament prophet who foretold the way of Jesus, as well as John the Baptist, Jesus’ cousin, the last prophet. His names mean “God saves”, and “gift from God”. He was baptized on June 11, 2023, at St. Edward the Confessor Church in Granville, OH.

Isaiah loved his mom, dad, and big brother. His favorite toys were his little blue whale, Mortimer moose, and his purple penguin. He loved to lay on his playmat and kick. He enjoyed sitting at the table with his family while they ate meals; he loved milk and was so eager to try food. He loved taking warm baths; bathing him was his parents’ favorite part of the day. His favorite songs were “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” and “The Itsy-Bitsy Spider,” which his mommy sang to him daily. At bedtime he listened to songs with his brother. He would try “singing” along, happily jumping in his daddy’s lap. Then “hugged” his brother before they each went to bed.

Isaiah broke out in a smile every time he saw his brother, Everett. His smile and gigantic cheeks lit up every room. He had silly nicknames like “Zay-Zay” and the “Monk Seal”; everything about him brought us so much laughter and joy. All who met him knew him as “chill.” He truly was the happiest baby.

He spent his last days at Mass, hiking, and enjoying the 4 th of July festival with his family. His short time on Earth was filled to the brim with adventure and beauty.

Our little boy only knew joy, peace, and love while on Earth. We were blessed to love him and to be loved by him. Through his short life and death, may we all learn simplicity, love, joy, and peace. May the angels lead him in.

Isaiah is survived by his mom, Katie (Cianci) Perry, his dad, Ethan Perry, and his big brother, Everett Perry, along with his loving grandparents Sheree Perry (“Grandby”), Kate and Mark Cianci (“Noni and Bop”), his great-grandma, Janet McParland (“Gigi”), his godparents, Uncle Nick and Aunt Hannah Cianci, along with his aunts and uncles: Christopher and Beth Perry, John Cianci and Gianna Colello, and all his cousins who loved him so much. He was preceded in death and welcomed into heaven by his unborn brother, Eli Joseph, and his infant cousins, Ella Harper and Christian Ryan. We picture them all happily frolicking and playing now, under the gaze of the Father, as angels fly by. He was also preceded in death and welcomed into heaven by his grandpa, S. Joel Perry Jr. (“Grandpa Joel”), his great-aunts Mary Pat, Pat, and Pam, his great-uncle Paul, and his maternal great-grandparents, Nick and Gloria Cianci, and Dr. John McParland, and paternal great-grandparents Kathryn “Mick” and Stanley Joel Perry Sr., and Helen and Edward Arinsmier.
