Janet Mae Holian, age 91, of Bush Rd., Jamestown passed away Tuesday morning January 24, 2023 in her residence surrounded by family. She was born in Cleveland, OH on March 13, 1931 the only child of John and Mary (Hritz) Vitez. She was a 1949 graduate of John Adams High School where she was 5 ^th in her class. On June 14, 1952 Janet married her high school sweetheart Thomas E. Holian, he passed away October 16, 2009. She was a member of St. Margaret Mission Church. Janet wanted to be a nurse and instead used that compassion and knowledge into raising six children whom she nursed, educated, guided with wisdom and a deep faith. She worked at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School as the Librarian, where she could also keep a firm grip on her children's conduct. She instilled a love of reading and a firm desire for education, believing that all her children should be independent and self-sustaining. She loved to dance, and she loved her family without boundaries. She never met a stranger and all who met her were touched by her generosity and graciousness.

She is survived by three sons, Mark Holian (Judy) of Jamestown, Shawn Holian (Julie) of Tampa, FL, Brian Holian (Kathy) of Edgewater, MD; three daughters, Mary Lou Steed (Dennis) of Strongsville, OH, Kathleen Holian (Vincent) of Jamestown, Kelley Ryder (Ky) of Hartland, WI; pseudo adopted, Janis and Steve McLemore; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daugher-in-law Lindalou Holian.
