Jason “Jay” Stewart Trubic, age 50, returned to Jesus on February 21st, 2025. He passed peacefully at UPMC Presbyterian with his loving family by his side.
Jay was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania on September 8th, 1974 to John Trubic and Judith Twilla (Smith). He grew up in Carlton, Pennsylvania where he graduated from Edinboro University in 2000 with a degree in Psychology.
Jay, known as Jay Bird, Two Bricks, or Slay Jay, was truly the life of the party, lighting up every room he entered. His unmatched passion for life was contagious, bringing joy to all around him. Throughout his life, he cultivated an incredible circle of friends who became family, including Scott, Brittany, Tristan, Brian, and Jeremy. It was never a dull moment with Jay; his energy was captivating. He possessed a natural gift for connecting with people and making everyone feel special. His conversations were filled with genuine interest and compelling storytelling. A talented musician and artist, he loved singing, playing the drums, painting gourds, and mastering the didgeridoo. His home was the heart of joyous gatherings, filled with laughter, dancing, and his signature humor.
Jay is survived by his beloved wife Tammy Sue Trubic (Sharp); his children, Breanna Trubic (Naylor) and her boyfriend, Nathaniel Monroe, and William Trubic and his girlfriend, Emma Maun; his mother, Judith Twilla; one step-sister, Alice Twilla; three step-brothers, Brett Twilla, Mike Twilla and his wife, Audrey, Dan Twilla and his wife Julie; four brothers-in-law, George & Randall Peabody, Erin Junk, and Kevin Klingensmith; four sisters-in-law, Tracey & Trudy Peabody, Tabitha Junk, and Tina Klingensmith; Several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his best friend, Marshall Cuddlesworth Trubic.
He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents; best friend, Bill Tenon; two nephews, Danny H. Hartman and Krue L. Peabody; and one niece, Nova R. Peabody.
