Joanna Johnson

Joanna R. Johnson, age 82, of Greenville, passed away Thursday morning, September 15, 2022 in her daughter’s residence on Oakview Dr., Hempfield Twp., Greenville.

She was born in Greenville on January 9, 1940 to Paul F. and Lillian (Burford) Rutter. Joanna was a 1957 graduate of Penn High School and received her Associates Degree from The Sharon Business Institute. She was employed for many years as an Administrative Secretary, working for the former Sharon Steel, R.D. Werner Co. and retiring from UPMC Horizon Greenville. Joanna was of the Protestant Faith and she was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Guardians fan.

She married Donald E. Johnson in 1962 and he preceded her in death in 1967. Joanna is survived by her daughter, Kelly Ann (Johnson) Hays of Greenville, a brother, Fred P. Rutter of Greenville, three grandchildren, Shane McClimans, Jeremy Hays and Cameron Hays and one great-granddaughter, Winter L. (Connelly) Capps. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Cremation was chosen and there will be no services. Inurnment will be in Shenango Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 26 Nesbit Rd., Suite 200, New Castle, PA 16105.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.
