John L. McMunigle

John L. McMunigle of Jamestown has gone to be with his Savior and Lord on October 6, 2024.

He was born to Herman and Frances (Fausnaught) McMunigle on March 17th, 1934. He graduated from Pymatuning Joint High School in 1952.

Most of John’s lifetime was spent as a dairy farmer in Jamestown area and then later in life he transitioned to beef cattle farming which enabled him to be able to finally travel.

John’s favorite past-times included going on bus tours, cheering on Cleveland sports teams (Guardians, Browns, and Cavs), visiting casinos, and watching TV, especially rodeos, country music shows, truck racing, and sporting events. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending as many school events as possible. He was very proud of all of their accomplishments in high school and college. He was dearly loved by his grandchildren! He loved to tease everyone- especially his family and friends! 

He was a member of Atlantic Community Church but had been a member of other Jamestown area churches.

He loved attending the annual Jamestown Fair, was able to attend all but the last 2 years and was selected as Parade Grand Marshall. He contributed land for use by the Fair Association.

John is survived by his wife Lenore “Lee” (Goodrich) McMunigle, and they had been married for 65 years. Also, he is survived by his son Robert (Maggie) McMunigle, daughter Cheryl (Paul) Diehl, grandchildren Megan (Brad) Davis, Christopher (Anna) McMunigle, Matthew McMunigle, Erin McMunigle, Greg Diehl and great-grandchildren Declan, Cora, and Finley.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Evelyn Eichhorn.

John was deeply loved and will be remembered for all the fun and joy that he brought to everyone.

The family wishes to express their great appreciation for the wonderful care given to John while residing at St. Paul’s.

Services:

A funeral service will be held at 4 PM Friday, 10/11/24, at Atlantic Community Church, 3468 Atlantic Lake Rd., Atlantic, PA with Rev. Harold Walton, pastor of the church officiating. Family and friends will be received at the church on Friday, 10/11/24, from 2 PM until time of service. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Jamestown. Memorial contributions may be made to Atlantic Community Church, 3468 Atlantic Lake Rd., Atlantic, PA 16111.
