Joseph Bonaquist

Joseph V. Bonaquist, age 72, of Wilbur St. Greenville, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday morning, March 9, 2024 in his residence. He was born in Greenville on March 14, 1951 to Rocco C. and Pauline M. (Lipani) Bonaquist.

Joe was a 1969 graduate of Greenville High School, served his country in the U.S. Army from 1970-1972 and received his B.S. in Business Administration with a Minor in Accounting from Penn State Shenango Campus. He had been employed as a welder for 30 years at Damascus Tube. Joe was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Fitzmartin Council #1446, the Italian Home Club and Greenville V.F.W Post #3374. He enjoyed trips to the casino, golfing, bowling, fishing, following the Pittsburgh Steelers.

On October 26, 1974 he married the former Carla J. Haynes, she survives at home. Also surviving are a daughter, Dawn M. Harris and her husband Jim of Fort Mill, SC; a son, Joseph C. Bonaquist of Greenville and a sister, Sarah Bonaquist of Greenville. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 14, 2024 in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville, with Fr. Brandon Kleckner, Pastor of the church as celebrant. Military Honors will be rendered by Greenville VFW Honor Guard #3374 at the conclusion of the Mass.
