Julia Hurst Kaufmann age 92, passed away September 4, 2023 following a long illness.
She was preceded by her parents Clifford and Esther Hurst, her brother Bobby, and her sister Betty Ann. She was born on eastern shore of Virginia and lived most of her life in Baltimore, Maryland. She lived her last two years in Greenville, Pennsylvania with her son Alan Carr and his wife Nancy. She worked at Loyola College in Baltimore Maryland as a telephone operator before retiring in 2003. Always encouraging others, she could be heard saying things like; “pick yourself up and dust yourself off, we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it, or this too will pass.”
Julia loved much and was loved by many. She was survived by; Alan and (Nancy) Carr, Deborah and (William) Munk, Sheila Carre, Scott and (Nancy) Carr, 12 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, September 11, 2023 in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville, with Rev. Raymond Gramata as celebrant. Inurnment will be in Fairview Lawn Cemetery, Onancock, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 85 N. High St. Greenville, PA 16125. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.
