Kenneth W. Humphrey, Sr., age 90, of Fredonia Rd., Hempfield Twp., Greenville passed away Thursday evening, October 24, 2024, in his residence.
He was born on August 17, 1934 in Greenville to Carl and Della (Smith) Humphrey and was a 1953 graduate of Penn High School. Kenneth served in the U. S. Army, stationed in Germany, from 1957-1959. He and his late wife formerly owned and operated Lakeway Restaurant in Stoneboro for 22 years.
Kenneth was a past member of the Greenville Lions Club, and he enjoyed fishing, golfing, yard sales, and auctions. He also was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
He married the former Barbara A. Bollenbacher on June 15, 1957. She preceded him in death on August 19, 2021.
Kenneth is survived by two sons: Kenneth W. (Linda) Humphrey, Jr. of Middlefield, OH and Dennis J. (Judy) Humphrey of Greenville; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Humphrey, of Orwell, OH; a sister, Gloria (David) Robinson of Greenville; a brother-in-law, Dr. Clair McClure of Ft. Pierce, FL; seven grandchildren: Jessica Freeman, Sarah Nolder, Alexander Gearhart, Jennifer Fekete, Michael Humphrey, Nick Humphrey, and Christina Humphrey; and 16 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a special friend, Judy Hardesty, of Sharpsville.
In addition to his wife, Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Douglas C. Humphrey; a granddaughter, Linda Smith; and a great-granddaughter, Cinnamon Rose Smith.
Services:
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, 11/3/24, in New Beginnings Christian Church, 73 Hamburg Rd., Greenville with Pastor Andy Henry officiating. Greenville Post #3374 Honor Guard will render military honors at the conclusion of the service. Memorial Contributions may be made to Medical Equipment Recycling Program, 110 N. Main St. Greenville, PA 16125.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville.
