Leroy H. Truax, Jr., age 80, of Greenville passed away Saturday afternoon, August 5, 2023 in UPMC Greenville after a brief illness. He was born in Chester, PA on July 18, 1943 a son of Leroy H. Truax, Sr. and Virginia (Moore) Truax.

He was a 1961 graduate of Chester High School and served his country in the United States Navy from 1961 until 1969 during Vietnam. On December 18, 1965 Leroy married the former Linda M. Saylor, she passed away on November 25, 2018. He was a member of West Salem Volunteer Fire Department since 1969 where he held all positions including chief , in addition he was past president of Mercer County Fire Chiefs Association for over 5 years, Mercer County Fire Training Institute, Greenville VFW Post # 3374. Leroy enjoyed camping and has been a member of Holiday Camp Land in Andover, OH since 1990. He was employed as a packer-receiver at Demascus Tube for 35 years and the Good Shepard Center in Greenville since 2019 where he made many friends, including Beverlee Reimold who he married June 17, 2023.

He is survived by a daughter, Dyana L. Thompson and her husband Donald of Greenville; a son, Jeffrey M. Truax and his wife Jessica of Woodbridge, VA; his twin brother, Raymond W. Truax and his wife Helen of the Villiages, FL; four grandchildren Michele Ohl, Elizabeth Thompson, Seth Thompson and Davina Truax, four Great Grandchildren, Keri Ohl, Evelyn Ohl, Colton Wansor, and Emerson Ohl. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and great granddaughter Matilda Jane Ohl.
