Linda Mae Cresswell, age 78, of Hadley Rd., Hempfield Twp., and formerly of Sheakleyville, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 29, 2023 in her residence.
She was born in Geneva, PA on October 17, 1944 to John H. and Betty L. (Pressler) Cresswell. Linda was a 1962 graduate of Commodore Perry High School. She was employed as a waitress at Rainbow Valley Restaurant during the 1970’s and she retired from the former G.T.I. in Hadley, where she worked as a machine operator/inspector for forty-three years. Linda previously attended Emmanuel Christian Church in Stoneboro. Her interests included, traveling during her younger years, playing bingo and bowling. She also loved baking cookies and was known as “The Cookie Lady”.
Linda is survived by her sister; Bonnie Cullen and her husband Richard of Greenville, five nieces; Lisa McInturf and her husband David, Rhonda Reimold and her companion Jeffrey Eichmiller, Dr. Michele Sandy and her husband Steven, Kristy Wolf and her companion Shawn Smith and Susan Becher and companion, a nephew; Marc Cullen and nine great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister; Marilyn Williams and her husband Grant Williams.
Per Linda’s wishes, cremation was chosen and no services will be held. Inurnment will be in Sheakleyville Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.
