Lorna Hodgson

Lorna E. Hodgson, age 94, of Liberty St., Jamestown passed away Friday morning May 19, 2023 in St. Paul's Senior Living Community. She was born in Meriden, CT on November 16, 1928 a daughter of Max G. and Alvina (Krebs) Biberthaler. She was a graduate of Middlebourne High School in West Virginia and received her bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Pittsburgh. On March 24, 1948 Lorna married Robert A. Hodgson, he survives.

She was employed at Mesta Machine CO. in Pittsburgh as a personnel director for many years and for Pennsylvania Engineering on the same capacity .

She was a very active member of Jamestown Historical Society, Garden Club, and Study Club. She enjoyed gardening, sailing, traveling and has been to all 50 states and other countries, and ice skating where she did figure skating for 25 years.

In addition to her husband of 75 years she is survived by a daughter, Cynthia E. Clampitt and her husband David of New Haven CT and their daughter Laura Clampitt; a brother, Armin Biberthaler of Fresno, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Ronald Biberthaler and a sister Anita Methvin.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, June 25, 2023 from 1:00-3:00pm in Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St. Jamestown. Memorial contributions may be made to Jamestown Historical Society, 405 Summit St., Jamestown, PA 16134.
