Mary Jean Williams, age 80, of Heckman Rd., Delaware Twp., Fredonia, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday afternoon, May 5, 2024 surrounded by her family in her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Greenville on March 21, 1944 to Harold and Mary (Young) Butterfield.

Jean was a 1962 graduate of Reynolds High School and was a Homemaker. She was a longtime member of the Sheakleyville Church of the Nazarene, where she sang in the choir, served as a Sunday School Teacher, was active with Junior Church and served as a Steward. Jean’s other interests included, cooking, reading, crafts, flowers and gardening, canning, bird watching, singing and attending and supporting her children’s and grandchildren’s activities and sporting events.

On August 30, 1962 she married Richard E. “Rich” Williams, he survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Jody Davis and her husband Bruce of Greenville; five sons, Matthew Williams and his wife Sharon of Greenville, Keith Williams of Fredonia, Christopher Williams and his wife Kelley of Greenville, Scott Williams of Greenville and Michael Williams and his wife Rhonda of Greenville; a sister; Darlene Royer of Newport, PA, twenty grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and Ken Munnell, whom she thought of as a son. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Gary Butterfield and a grandson, Jordan Williams.
