Mary Kolcharno

Mary Denise Kolcharno, age 71, of Greenville, PA passed away at home with her family by her side on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.

She was born in Greenville on January 28, 1951 to Charles and Mary Jane (Fry) Scott. Denise was a 1969 graduate of Greenville High School and a 1972 alum of Mansfield State University, where she majored in music. On January 20, 1973 she married Richard Kolcharno. For over forty years she taught in Christian education sharing her love of music with so many students.

Denise is survived by her husband of nearly fifty years as well as her father; Charles Scott, her son; Scott and his wife Amanda, her brother; David Scott and his wife Valerie and her sister; Colleen Jackson and her husband Kevin. In addition, her most precious loves her three grandchildren; Isaiah (14), Samantha (12) and Zachariah (10) and two nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, a brother; Mark Scott and an infant sister; Marjorie Anna Scott.

Denise truly loved her husband, son, and family. She bravely fought against ovarian cancer for six years. The family wishes to express their gratitude to all the physicians and nurses for their support and loving care.

A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Denise Kolcharno will be held at 11:00am, Saturday January 14, 2023 at Bethel Life worship Center, 246 S. Mercer St., Greenville, with Pastor Aaron Reinerd and Rev. Kent Bell, co-officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “Ukraine Relief”, c/o Bethel Life Worship Center, 246 S. Mercer St., Greenville, PA 16125.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.
