Melva I. Seiple, age 88, of North Wood Street, Greenville passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 24, 2024 at her residence. 

She was born on Aug. 16, 1935, in Greenville, to Gordon E. and Hazel D. Thompson Sorber. Melva was a 1953 graduate of Pymatuning High School and worked for many years in the offices of the Greenville Medical Clinic.

Melva loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and, for more than forty years, hosted and cooked dinner each Sunday for her large, extended family.

Melva was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, June Sorber, Jeanne VanTilburg, and Hazel Jonnet; and her brothers, Bill, Jim, Wesley, Sonny, and Jack Sorber. 

She is survived by her brother, Bob Sorber and his wife Sandy of Dinuba, CA; sister, Pat Stainbrook of Greenville; daughters, Nancy Baker and her husband Andy of Sharon and Barbara Kosnac of Greenville; sons, Jerry Seiple and his wife Sharen, Dale Seiple, Roger Seiple, and Ron Seiple and his wife Lisa, all of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Michelle, Makenzie, Jason, Megan, Jamie, Jennifer, and Laura; and eight great-grandchildren.

Melva’s loved ones would like to thank Gentiva Hospice, especially Lindsay Willison, for their compassion and care.

Services:

Cremation was chosen, and there will be no public services. Inurnment will be in Shenango Valley Cemetery.
