Nancy Appleby

Nancy I. Schwartz Norris Appleby, age 93, of E. Jamestown Rd., Greenville, PA and previously of Allison Park and Saxonburg, PA passed away Wednesday evening, September 29, 2021 in St. Paul's Senior Living Community.

She was born in Warren, PA on November 28, 1927 a daughter of William and Isabel (Hubbard) Schwartz. She was a 1945 graduate of Grand Warren High School, 1949 received her B.A. Degree from Westminster College, and 1969 received her masters degree in education from Pittsburgh. On December 26, 1985 Nancy married Clinton E. Appleby, he passed away February 17, 2017.

She was employed as an elementary school teacher for 20 years at Deer Lakes School District in Cheswich, Pa, retiring in 1989. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, PA and Parkwood United Presbyterian in Allison Park where she was an elder, sang in the choir, and sang in the handbell choir. She was a volunteer at Harmarville Rehab Center and St. Paul's Health Center.

She is survived by two daughters, Dr. Kathleen A. Norris of Portland, MA, Susan B. Norris of Harrisburg, PA; a son, Richard S. Norris and his wife Janice of Harmony, PA; three step daughters, Debra Galvin of Lititz, PA, Jane Randolph of Brandon, FL, and Pamela Wright of Leesburg, VA; 2 grandchildren and 11 step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, father of her children Matthew S. Norris, sister Martha Shipman, and a brother Robert Schwartz.

There will be no public services. A private graveside service will be held in Mt. Royal Cemetery, Glenshaw, PA at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to a library of the donor's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville, PA.
