Patricia J. (Sommers) Conway, age 65, entered eternal peace early Friday morning, April 9, 2021, at the VA Community Living Center, Erie, PA.
Pat was born April 22, 1955, in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of the late William L. and Marjorie E. (Petri) Sommers, Sr. She was a 1973 graduate of North Allegheny High School. Pat proudly served in the United States Coast Guard from 1978 until 1982, being stationed in both Maryland and North Carolina. While stationed at Fort Macon, she met the love of her life, Robert E. Conway, who survives. They were married April 25, 1981, and moved to the Jamestown, PA, area in 1982. Pat was a loving wife, a devoted stay-at-home mother, and a doting grandmother. She took great pride in her family, especially her grandsons. Pat was never happier than when she was sharing pictures of and bragging about “her boys;” her favorite title was Grammy. Since 1973, Pat loved all thing Elvis; she also enjoyed country music and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Her favorite vacation spot was Graceland in Memphis, TN, which she visited several times. She had a fantastic sense of humor, an infectious smile, and a kind, loving heart. She was a member of the Hartstown Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; a daughter, Jennifer Klink and her husband Matthew of Hartstown; two sisters, Sandra (Keith) Garver and Flora (Richard) Malone; a brother, William L. Sommers, Jr.; four grandsons, Gregory, Brevin, Landen, and Jarrett; and a very large extended family. She is also survived by the staff at the Erie VA Community Living Center, to whom Pat's family is eternally grateful for their care and love for Pat for the last nearly two years. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to Erie VA Medical Center, 135 East 38 th St., Boulevard, Erie, PA 16504 or Hartstown Presbyterian Church, 7235 US-322, Hartstown, PA 16131.
