Paul E. Evans, age 90, of The Colony at St. Paul’s Senior Living Community, Greenville, passed away Wednesday morning, September 25, 2024, in Sharon Regional Medical Center.
He was born on September 19, 1934 in Brookville, PA to Paul A. and Alice M. (Johnston) Evans. Paul was a 1952 graduate of Brookville High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1956 where he was stationed aboard the U.S.S. Oriskany Aircraft Carrier during the Korean War and also served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959-1966 where he was stationed in France, Germany, Libya, and Vietnam. He was employed in management with Jamesway Corp. for 30 years and later worked in the advertising department of The Record-Argus for five years.
Paul was of the Methodist Faith. He was an active member of the Greenville Lions Club, serving as King Lion from 1993-1994 and 2016-2017 and was a Life Member of Greenville VFW Post # 3374. While residing at The Colony at St. Paul’s, he served as a volunteer at the main health center, was a member of The Colony Council, and loved spending time with fellow Colony residents on bus trips, campfires, and game nights. Paul enjoyed bowling, golfing, and puzzles and was a longtime season pass holder at Pine Hill Golf Course. He also enjoyed watching Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers games.
He married the former Ann Shockley on March 13, 1967; she preceded him in death on March 14, 2019. In the past few years, Paul found true love again with his best friend Gerry McElree.
Paul is survived by three daughters: Denise A. (Jerry) Wynkoop of Sigel, Dayna S. (Cleve) Walton of Brookville, and Valorie L. (James) Kaltenbaugh of Greenville; a son, Paul J. (Anna) Evans of Cleveland, GA; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Debra E. Sanborn.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, 10/1/24, in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville. Military honors will be rendered at the conclusion of the service by Greenville VFW Post #3374 Honor Guard.
Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Monday, 9/30/24, from 4-6 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Senior Living Community, 339 E. Jamestown Rd., Greenville, PA 16125.
