Richard C. “Dick” Bartosh, Sr., age 92, of Greenville, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 22, 2022.

He was born in Farrell, PA on September 9, 1930 to John J. and Marian Bartosh. Dick was a 1950 graduate of Penn High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1950-1953 during the Korean War. He then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as well as in Berlin two different times. In addition, Dick also had ten years with the U.S. Army Reserves. He was employed as a Mail Carrier with the U.S. Postal Service in Greenville, retiring in 1985.

Dick also did scrapping and tree trimming work in the local area for many years. He was a member of B.P.O.E. #145, Greenville Family Moose Center #276, Greenville Italian Home Club, Greenville VFW Post #3374, Fredonia American Legion #919 and was a life member of Vienna AMVETS Post #290. Dick served as a Greenville Little League Coach during the early 1970’s, played fast pitch softball in the 1960’s and umpired baseball locally for three decades. His hobbies included, bowling, duck pin bowling, horseshoes and being in the outdoors.

On November 14, 1960 he married the former Grace E. Warnock, she passed away June 29, 2001. Dick is survived by his children, Richard C. Bartosh, Jr. and his wife Joanie, Robert Jay Bartosh and his wife Deborah and Derrick J. Bartosh and his companion Robin Reagle, all of Greenville, and Robin Searcy, Jody Joplin, Steve Bartosh and Cindy Helweg, all of California, eleven grandchildren, many great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and his lady friend, Charlotte Osborn of Hadley. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, Anna Mae Rupnik and Joann Brant, three brothers, James Bartosh, Jack Bartosh and Bill Bartosh, and a grandson, Jonathan Joplin.

A Service of Military Honors with flag presentation will be held at 2:30pm Wednesday, November 2, 2022 in Greenville VFW Post #3374. Inurnment will be in Shenango Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Greenville VFW Post #3374, 54 Conneaut Lake Rd., Greenville, PA 16125.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.
