Richard W. Parker, age 88, of Wise Rd., West Salem Twp., Greenville, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024, in his residence.

He was born on November 1, 1935 in Greenville to W. Russell and Dorothea (Brown) Parker. Richard attended Penn High School and was employed as the maintenance supervisor at Pymatuning State Park for 33 years. In addition to his career, he was a lifelong dairy farmer in West Salem Twp.

Richard was a member of Eagle’s Nest at Old Salem Church where he served as Head Deacon. He also was a member of the West Salem and Stony Point Granges for more than 70 years. Richard was a member of the PA Holstein Association and a past member of the Mercer Co. Holstein Association. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sports activities and dairy showings.

He married the former Marilyn Bonan on May 39, 1957. She preceded him in death on April 26, 2023.

Richard is survived by a son, Mark (Gina) Parker of Greenville; a daughter, Lucy (Tom) Clayton of Sandy Lake; five grandchildren: Erin Parker and her companion Russell Fenton, Joe (Nicole) Parker, Jolene Parker, Andrew (Kelly) Clayton, and Adam Clayton; and three great-grandchildren: Walter Downing, Kasey Rae Clayton, and Lyla Jo Parker.

In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Jean Green and Nancy Smalley; and a brother, Bud Parker.

Services:

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, 11/2/24, in Eagle’s Nest at Old Salem Church, 1031 Methodist Rd., Greenville with Rev. Vincent J. Bellanca, Pastor of the Church, officiating. Inurnment will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Jamestown.

Memorial contributions may be made to Eagle’s Nest at Old Salem Church, 1031 Methodist Rd., Greenville, PA 16125.
