Richard P. Sulecki, age 86 of Woodshire Rd., Hempfield Twp., Greenville passed away on Friday morning, May 26, 2023 in his residence.
He was born in Sharon on January 6, 1937 a son of William J. and Mary H. (Gutta) Sulecki. He was a 1955 Graduate of Hickory High School and a 1960 Graduate of Youngstown State University with a degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. On November 28, 1957 Richard married the former Rosalie T. Kmetz, she passed away February 20, 2014. His career first started in the Plant at R.D. Werner Company. He held many titles while working his way up the ladder until he was name V.P. of Corporate Engineering in the early 1980s until he retired in 2004.
He was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church. Among his many accomplishments he helped develop OSHA safety guidelines, worked with the Air Force, was involved in NASA, and was the inventor of 17 patents. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and canoeing with his family.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary A. Sulecki Lysek and her husband Bruce of Greenville; two sons, Richard M. Sulecki of Greenville, Mark A. Sulecki and his wife Valerie of Florida; three grandchildren, Joshua Sulecki and his wife Brianna, Samantha Sulecki, and Chris Lysek; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents wife and two sisters Norma Jean Smith and Dolores Prinz.
