Robert E. Lenkner, age 92, of Orangeville Rd., Greenville passed away Saturday evening, February 18, 2023 in his residence.
He was born in Greenville on November 16, 1930 a son of Herman and Mary (Whitney) Lenkner. He was a 1948 graduate of Greenville High School in 1952 received his degree in Chemistry from Thiel College and his Masters in Education from Penn State College. He was an Army Chemical Engineer stationed in Baltimore during the Korean War. On November 21, 1951 Bob married the former Loretta Walker, she passed away on March 12, 1987, on April 13, 1996 he married the former Donna McGuire, she survives. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Greenville. He was previously a member of Calvary United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School, was a Youth Leader, Administrative Council, and was the Sunday School Superintendent. He was a principal at Commodore Perry High School, Vice President of Student Affairs, and taught Chemistry, English, and Physics at Lakeview High School. Bob coached wrestling at Commodore Perry High School. In the summers he would help on the family farm.
In addition to his wife Donna, he is survived by a daughter, Susan McCloskey and her husband Timothy of Jamestown; two sons, Owen Lenkner and his wife Jane of Millsboro, DE, Phil Lenkner of Greenville; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, daughter Linda Stoner,will and a brother Norman Lenkner.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown. Burial will be in Shenango Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Strayhaven Animal Shelter, 94 Donations Rd., Greenville, PA 16125 or Wounded Warriors, P.O.
