Ronald E. Wood, Sr., age 74, of Shady Ave., Greenville, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, February 6, 2024 in The Grove at Greenville. He was born in Franklin, PA on May 23, 1949 to Robert B. and Marjorie (Moyer) Wood.

Ron was a graduate of Franklin High School. He began a long working career in the grocery store business, beginning as a packer at the age of 16 in Franklin at Riverside Grocery. Ron continued with Riverside moving to their Greenville Store, where assumed the position of Store Manager in 1979. That store later became Bilo from which he retired from. In retirement, Ron purchased a Wise Potato Chip route and then finished his career working in the produce department of the Greenville Walmart. He was a member of Grace Chapel Community Church, Hermitage and had been a past member of Jamestown VFW Post #5424 and the Greenville Italian Home Club. Ron had previously served on Greenville Borough Council and had been a member of Greenville Kiwanis Club. He was a faithful Cleveland Browns Fan and also enjoyed bowling and golfing.

On August 22, 2013 he married the former Lisa M. Piontkowski, she survives. Also surviving is his son, Ronald E. Wood, Jr. and his wife Cindy of Greenville, a daughter, Sheila K. O’Kresik and her husband Doug of Hermitage, two brothers, Robert Wood of Florida and Gary Wood and his wife Patty of Franklin, a sister, Pam Pritts and her husband Howard of Franklin and two grandchildren, Chase and Megan Wood. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William Wood.
